My first memory of having a loving celebratory holiday stems from my fourth year of life. I was carrying a lot of hurt around by that time. The man who comforted me when my parents weren't around passed away suddenly. In the blink of an eye he was gone. Sometimes I sit and try to picture him. As we sat around the kitchen table and he bestowed the greatest gift ever. He showed me how to write.
